Crowds flock to enjoy Simply Christmas at ExCeL, London

Returning for its second year, the ICHF Events show Simply Christmas took place at ExCeL, London from 19 to 21 November. Attracting in the region of 15,000 visitors with its mix of festive stands and craft supplies, Simply Christmas appealed to creative hobbyists and early Christmas shoppers alike. The three-day event included the regular, highly successful show Stitching, Sewing and Hobbycrafts , offering visitors two shows for the price of one.

Simon Burns, joint Managing Director at ICHF Events said: “Once again, the Simply Christmas show has been a resounding success. We have a fantastic loyal following of visitors who love to create homemade gifts and the show has been designed to meet their needs at this time of year – the cusp of the Christmas period and a traditionally very busy time for hobbycraft.”

With a fantastic range of stands selling everything required for stamping, beading and jewellery making to papercraft, cardmaking and calligraphy, visitors also enjoyed the Food & Drink Festive Village. Featuring a tempting medley of delicious goodies from handmade chocolates, marmalades, cheeses, chutneys and fabulous cakes. With a gift wrapping service on hand, visitors could stock up early for Christmas and return home with the gifts ready to place under the tree.

The show also featured The Knitted Gingerbread House, an international exhibit created by knitting extraordinaire Alison Murray and her team of volunteers. The exhibit took pride of place at the show and was just one source of inspiration for hobbycrafters alongside a full programme of make and take sessions and demonstrations which appealed to both seasoned craft enthusiasts and those new to the hobby.
