4-star rating awarded following investment boost to improve the guest experience
Aer Lingus has once again been named as the only Irish airline to win a highly prized 4-star rating by independent airline auditors Skytrax.  
The top accolade comes as the Irish carrier continues its ambitious ongoing investment plans, taking delivery of new state-of-the-art aircraft, launching new transatlantic routes and transforming its services for guests on the ground and in the air.

Virgin Atlantic becomes the first UK airline to order the A330-900neo, strengthening partnership with Airbus and Rolls Royce
Virgin Atlantic has become the first UK airline to announce a firm order for 14 Airbus A330-900neos, with an additional six as options, reaffirming its commitment to flying the cleanest, greenest fleet in the sky.
The new planes are designed to be 13 per cent more fuel and carbon efficient than the A330-300 they replace and will deliver a 50 per cent reduction in airport noise contour.

American Airlines doubles down in Santo Domingo

The world’s largest carrier, American Airlines, has expanded its network footprint in the Dominican Republic, launching two new weekly connections to Santo Domingo from its hubs at Dallas/Fort Worth and Charlotte Douglas in the US. As a result, the oneworld carrier will double its direct flights to Santo Domingo Las Américas International Airport from two destinations to four.

Aer Lingus guests worldwide are making the most of their AerClub membership with a milestone €1 million saved thanks to Pay with Avios. The new payment feature, which gives AerClub members the option to part pay for their flights using Avios accrued through the loyalty programme, launched in March 2019.
