Flybe highlights seasonal trends

Flybe passengers using codeshare connections to connect seamlessly to global destinations
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline is gearing up for a busy festive holiday period, operating 4,723 flights across 126 own-operated routes over the 14-day holiday period between 21st December 2018 – 3rd January 2019, with Friday 21st currently forecast to be the busiest single day of the entire holiday period (based on existing bookings) as people head off for to enjoy seasonal celebrations.


Flybe’s top five busiest airports this year are Birmingham, followed closely by Manchester, Belfast City, Southampton and Edinburgh; and included amongst its busiest routes are; Birmingham and Manchester to Amsterdam, Manchester to Paris Charles de Gaulle, and Belfast City to Manchester and Birmingham.  Many passengers are taking advantage of having a wide choice of convenient codeshare connections from their closest regional airport, to then travel on to long haul destinations from many of the main international hub airports served by Flybe to destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Orlando and Vancouver, all on one convenient seamless booking.  

The airline has also boosted its 2018-19 Winter schedule at many of its airports including Belfast City, Birmingham, Dublin, Exeter and Southampton with 74 additional flights over the holiday period to meet demand on some of its most popular routes, including those to Berlin, Milan, Paris and regional France.  

Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Roy Kinnear comments: “It is always an especially busy time of the year as people travel to enjoy some much-needed time to relax over the festive Christmas and New Year holidays.  

“It is a time which really brings to life the role that Flybe plays in connecting and bringing families and friends together. We operate from 33 UK and 46 European airports which means that a Flybe airport is always close by.  While 21st December is currently forecast to be our busiest day, we know that people will be on the move throughout the extended holiday period this year which will certainly keep us all on our toes.”
