Finnair launches door-to-door luggage delivery at Heathrow with new partner AirPortr

Finnair has launched a new door-to-door luggage check-in service at London Heathrow to reduce airport waiting times for customers in partnership with leading airport luggage innovators, AirPortr.
The bespoke paid-for concierge service is designed to enhance the customer experience for the airline’s London-based travellers, as part of a three-month trial. It will enable customers to arrange collection of their luggage right from the doorstep of their home or hotel to be checked in directly on their behalf.


For Finnair customers who have checked in online, baggage can be collected at their London location up to a few hours prior to departure. This means they can now head straight through airport security when departing – enjoying hassle-free boarding and a smoother, more enjoyable journey – and next seeing their bags at their destination airport.

Finnair customers will be able to book the AirPortr service online at finnair.com and through airportr.com/finnair.

The new service will have particular benefits for business travellers. They will be able to have their bags collected, delivered to the airport and checked-in for their flight, direct from their hotel room, allowing them to attend meetings without having to worry about carrying or storing their bags.

It also provides added convenience for leisure customers, who can leave their bags to be picked up from their doorstep by AirPortr’s professional drivers for secure delivery to the airport.

This leaves them plenty of time to enjoy the huge array of boutique stores, restaurants and duty-free shopping at Heathrow’s Terminal 3, and pick up their luggage only once they reach their destination airport.

Finnair customers arriving into London from Helsinki can also have their bags picked up from the airport and delivered directly to their home or hotel. This will offer them greater freedom to attend important meetings or to explore London at their own pace, without having to worry about their baggage.

Finnair will become the third oneworld carrier to make use of the service; AirPortr has partnered with Finnair’s alliance partners British Airways and American Airlines at Heathrow, and with British Airways at Gatwick.

Finnair flies from London to Helsinki up to five times a day operating both Airbus A350 and A320 aircraft. Fares from Heathrow start from £97 return in Economy Class and £514 return in Business Class, including all taxes and charges.
