Aer Lingus launches new daily service to Newark

Award-winning Irish airline Aer Lingus has launched a new daily service from Dublin to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. The new year-round route, which made its first flight on 1st September, marks the latest addition to the carrier’s fast-growing transatlantic network.

Only 40 mins from downtown Manhattan, Newark represents another great option for those keen to visit the Big Apple, complementing Aer Lingus’ existing double-daily services to New York JFK via Dublin and six-times weekly flights via Shannon.

Guests from a range of UK departure points including Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh have already taken advantage of the new route thanks to Aer Lingus’ easy transatlantic connections from 19 key UK airports. When connecting in Dublin, Aer Lingus guests from the UK can pre-clear U.S Customs and Immigration allowing them to pass through domestic channels upon landing for a smooth and swift arrival in the USA.

Newark is the second of three new transatlantic routes to commence this summer, marking the single largest expansion of Aer Lingus’ transatlantic network in its history. A direct new service to Los Angeles began in May and in late September a new four-times weekly service will launch from Dublin to Hartford, Connecticut.

Declan Kearney, Director of Communications, Aer Lingus, said: “We are delighted to commence our new direct service from Dublin to Newark, New Jersey, offering our guests from the UK even more options when visiting the Big Apple with Aer Lingus. With Hartford to follow in just a few weeks’ time, we will be operating 28 daily services across the Atlantic by the end of this month.”

All Aer Lingus transatlantic fares offer exceptional all-inclusive value with free 23kg baggage allowance, complimentary meal and drinks during the flight and the latest films, television and music via a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system. Aer Lingus Business Class guests can also enjoy brand new seats which transform into a fully lie-flat bed within a redesigned cabin offering even greater levels of comfort, storage and space.
