Turkish Airlines announces increased free baggage allowance of 40kg from Edinburgh

Ahmet Serhat Sari, General Manager for Edinburgh, Turkish Airlines has made the following comment:
"Turkish Airlines has announced 40kg of free baggage allowance to passengers travelling in Economy Class and 50kg for Business Class travellers, from Edinburgh to Asia, Middle East and Africa.

We have achieved significant growth recently, increasing our capacity by 51% for the period January to August 2014, compared to the same period in 2013.  We have also seen some destinations including, Beijing, Bangkok, Delhi, Hong Kong, Cape Town, Lahore and Dubai are proving more popular than others.

As a result, we are offering passengers the freedom to not be restricted by baggage allowance on our flights. Holiday-goers no longer have to worry about over-packing especially if they are travelling for an extended period time. This will particularly benefit families going on their annual holiday overseas. Students will also be able to take advantage of this offer when travelling home to visit family and friends over the holidays. Further, sports enthusiasts have the luxury of taking their first set of golf and skiing equipment free of charge when they fly with us.

Turkish Airlines currently operates seven flights weekly from Edinburgh, which will increase to nine during the summer period.

Turkish Airlines continues to achieve great success, and is one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe. For the fourth consecutive year, we were chosen as the ‘Best Airline in Europe’ at the 2014 Skytrax World Airline awards. Turkish Airlines currently operates flights to more than 260 destinations around the World.”
