airberlin offers free currywurst throughout Germany on 3 October

From 12:30 pm on the Day of German Unity, airberlin will serve all passengers on its domestic German flights a complimentary portion of Germany's favourite snack: currywurst. In total, around 6,000 portions of currywurst from the Sansibar restaurant in Sylt will be served on that day. In the morning, airberlin offers passengers on its domestic German flights a sweet currant bun or savoury pretzel stick.

During the day, passengers have the choice of a sweet or savoury snack, which on 3 October will be replaced by currywurst. Every year, airberlin serves more than 150,000 in-flight portions of the popular curried sausage.

airberlin has been offering currywurst, which remains a firm favourite on the Sansibar menu, as an additional in-flight service on its flights since 2007. airberlin is therefore one of the few European airlines on which, in addition to complimentary snacks and drinks, hot in-flight food can be purchased without having to pre-order. A choice of various gourmet Sansibar dishes is available on board almost all airberlin City Shuttle and medium-haul flights longer than 90 minutes.
