CWT reports strong performance in 2013

Client retention rate at high of 98 per cent

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) today announced strong financial results for 2013.
Key growth was recorded in CWT’s new business sales, with USD $1.9 billion posted in 2013. The company’s specialist business divisions including CWT Energy, Resources & Marine and consulting arm CWT Solutions Group also reported significant growth.

CWT Meetings & Events increases revenue by 20 per cent for third year running

Event management specialists CWT Meetings & Events UK & Ireland has announced another excellent set of results for 2013 with further growth expected for 2014.
The agency has seen double-digit revenue growth over the previous three years, continuing momentum in 2013 with figures up 20 per cent from 2012. Growth comes from wins with pharmaceutical, technology and financial services sector clients as well as sustained performance across group travel, venue finding, strategic meetings management (SMM) and the live events divisions.

HRG Hotel Survey reveals “Supercities” lead the charge in global hotel room rate rises

Hotel room rate rises around the world are being led by “supercities” rather than national trends, according to the latest Hotel Survey from award-winning international corporate services company, Hogg Robinson Group (HRG). Historically, where average room rates (ARR) have tended to be affected on a national basis, this is no longer the case, with individual “supercities” - destinations popular for both business and leisure visitors - becoming bigger players in a shrinking world.

British Hospitality Association welcomes government support of storm-struck businesses

The British Hospitality Association welcomes the government announcement for an additional £10m business support scheme to help flood affected businesses.
The announcement comes on the back of the British Hospitality Association’s earlier plea to government to ‘act early’ to aid storm-struck UK hospitality and tourism businesses as they struggle to recover from the effects of flooding and winter storms which are now in their third month.
