USA leads increase in long haul incentive travel

Long haul incentive travel trips for larger groups are on the increase, with the USA as the most popular destination, according to incentive travel and motivation agency AYMTM.  
The agency has reported a 25 per cent annual increase in long haul incentives over the past three years.

Record year for Central America with nearly 13 million visitors in 2013

The final visitor figures for 2013 released by the Ministries of Tourism of the seven Central American countries - Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama - show that tourism to the region continued to grow last year, with a total of 12,959,843 visitors, 3.83% more than in 2012.

Dubai’s hotels welcome over 11 million guests in 2013

Dubai’s hotels welcomed more than 11 million guests in 2013 – an increase of just over one million on the 2012 numbers and a positive indication that Dubai is on the way to achieving its target of welcoming 20 million visitors a year by 2020. Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) released the statistics ahead of the global tourism industry gathering at the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) in Berlin this week, with the announced figures also showing increases across key indicators such as hotel establishment revenues and room occupancy.
