International research reveals significant growth in Conference Ambassador Programmes among destinations worldwide

Conference Ambassador Programmes have shown signs of growth in almost every corner of the world according to a study by Tony Rogers of Tony Rogers Conference and Event Services and Sue Beverley of CHS Group.
The pair revealed the results from their recent global research into Conference Ambassador Programmes at a conference for UK destinations known as GANG (Great Ambassador Networking Group). The GANG conference was held at Cambridge University last week on Thursday 27th March

Tourism - the dominant driver of jobs since the recession

New Figures released by VisitEngland during English Tourism Week

New employment analysis released this week shows tourism to be the major driver of jobs in this country since the recession.  The work, commissioned by VisitEngland the national tourist board and carried out by the Office for National Statistics shows that between September 2009 and September 2013 the number of people working in tourism industries in England rose by 6% equating to 153,000 jobs.  Over the same period, the number of people working in other industries grew by just 3%.

PCB membership to partnership

In December 2013 the Perth Convention Bureau (PCB) consulted with a sample of its members, as selected by independent consultants, Metrix Consulting, to gauge their opinion on the value of PCB membership. Face to face and telephone interviews were conducted with a cross section of the membership.
Currently PCB has a large range of membership levels but has looked to streamline this to provide a more manageable model. Using the findings from the consultative interviews with members, PCB will introduce a simplified structure along with new initiatives in the new financial year.
