New off-roading experience puts groups to the test behind the wheel of the latest Mercedes-Benz X-Class 4x4s and iconic Land Rover Defenders
An adrenaline-fuelled new off-roading experience which will cater for groups of between six and sixty people has launched – and will also offer professional driver training.
Off Road Driver will run at 10 venues across England, offering groups the chance to get behind the wheel of the latest luxury Mercedes-Benz X-Class 4x4s or an iconic Land Rover Defender.

Those wanting an even more adventurous experience can also have a go at driving a Pinzgauer 6x6 military vehicle.

All 10 venues offer a combination of deep water crossings, scary slide slopes, vertiginous ascents and steep brake-free declines, designed to help drivers learn how to tackle any off road scenario. Off Road Driver can cater for people with disabilities with dual control and hand control cars suitable for wheelchair users.

As well as half day or full day driving programmes, Off Road Driver can also arrange other tailored activities including archery, clay shooting, quad biking or team building activities. In addition, some of the venues are based at historic houses that can offer unique hospitality opportunities. Groups can dine in the same room as Oliver Cromwell at Chavenage House, made famous as Trenwith in Poldark, or enjoy a bite to eat with the Feversham family at Duncombe Park.

Off Road Driver will also provide professional training for individuals or groups who need to use 4-wheel drives in off road or hostile environments, with training taking place in the UK or at specialist geographical locations as appropriate.

Courses will include:
  ·       Towing
·       Winching and recovery
·       Advanced off road driving techniques
·       Expedition planning
·       Specialist terrains
·       Ice driving
·       Desert driving
·       Rocks and mountains

Successful completion of the training will lead to SDSA (Specialist Driving Skills Agency) qualifications. The SDSA provides safety and operating standards, training, continuing professional development, certification and insurance for specialist driving professionals.
