mia to connect agents and venues at latest networking day

Meetings Industry Association’s (mia) Connect Agent Day
Venues are invited to join the UK’s leading booking agents for engaging discussions, valuable networking opportunities and dynamic team building activities at the Meetings Industry Association’s (mia) next Connect Agent Day.  
The all-day event will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Chester on Wednesday 27 March where representatives from leading agencies such as Capita Travel & Events, Bien Venue, Hogg Robinson Group and Pandora Events, will come together with venues to discuss sector concerns and more.

The mia’s Connect Agent Day events are a popular platform for a wide range of industry professionals to network and provide both venues and booking agents with crucial insights to help them better their businesses.  

Such is the forum’s success that it was awarded Silver in the Best Membership Initiative category at the Association Excellence Awards 2018.  

At next month’s Connect Agent Day, attendees will be able to take part in a 30 in 30 quickfire question and answer session where agents will be quizzed on some of the industry’s hottest topics before both agents and venues get to share their views on a range of issues in the ‘Think In, Talk In’ session.  

Following lunch, attendees will have more time to network as their logical and lateral thinking will be tested in a dynamic team building activity before finishing up with the awards presentation and a Happy Hour drinks reception. 

The mia launched its ‘Connect’ events in 2017 to further enhance the association’s renowned informative and inspiring programme. The Connect Agent Day in Chester will be the sixth to be held and is expected to attract a large number of attendees.

Jane Longhurst, chief executive at the mia, said: “The Connect Agent Days we have held so far have proven to be very popular with our members and we expect our next event to be the same so I would urge venues to get on the waiting list now! Feedback from previous events has been hugely positive with delegates telling us they found the day an invaluable experience in bringing agents and venues closer together and, crucially, have provided our members with a tangible return on investment.”

   The next Connect Agent Day runs from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 27 March, numbers are strictly controlled so advance booking is essential.

Tickets are £200 +VAT for mia members and £300+VAT for non-members and include refreshments and lunch.
