UKSV, which works with high-profile clients including the AA, IBM and Nationwide Building Society, is a finalist in the EVCOM Industry Awards' Best Healthcare Event category, in recognition of a three-day conference in Barcelona.
More than 600 pharmaceutical sales professionals from across the globe attended the conference last year, which was designed to educate, stimulate, motivate and stay in the memory. The conference included Olympians Roger Black and Steve Backley, plus The Blind Adventurer Miles Hilton-Barber among the speakers, there was also an open-top bus tour, and a spectacular winter-masquerade-ball-themed gala dinner.
UKSV managed the implementation of the event, coordinating the 100+ crew, conference design and theme, and handling a multitude of film, lighting, sound effects, stage props, as well as inviting and supporting guest speakers.
To implement a number of innovations at the conference, UKSV collaborated with global meeting and event management company Banks Sadler, which developed a downloadable interactive app for delegates. This was used to register them in advance and provide information throughout the event, such as their personalised itineraries and agendas.
The actual destination of the conference, The Hotel Arts, Barcelona, was kept a secret from delegates, with a ‘teaser' campaign building excitement and anticipation until, six weeks before the event, they each received a personalised suitcase with a postcard saying, "Pack your bags - we're off to Barcelona".
Neil Coombes, who is Senior Account Manager at UKSV said: "I am enormously proud of my team for organising and implementing what was an incredibly successful event and delighted to see their hard work recognised with a position among the finalists at the EVCOM Industry Awards.
"We had some phenomenal feedback from the client who could not have been happier with what we did - and we can only hope the judges are similarly impressed."
