American Airlines partners with Amadeus in NDC-X program

Major US carrier collaborating with Amadeus and other program partners to drive progress with NDC
American Airlines is partnering with Amadeus as it joins the NDC-X program. This program is a collaboration of multiple industry players to bring NDC- enabled benefits to travelers through Amadeus’ platforms.

Through the program, both American Airlines and Amadeus aim to ensure that NDC content is easy to access and compare, so that all industry players can serve travelers efficiently. This move is a natural evolution of their partnership, as the two companies have been working together on NDC for several years, including bringing American’s seat products to Amadeus subscribers.

“NDC technology brings the same great content and product offerings available to customers on to travel professionals and their customers,” says Alison Taylor, SVP Global Sales and Distribution at American Airlines. “Amadeus’s NDC-X program represents a great opportunity to work with leaders across the travel industry, including corporate managed travel, to bring American’s NDC content to Amadeus. It’s exciting to be working with long-term partner Amadeus on this strategic project to take NDC to the next level.”

“Formally welcoming American Airlines to our NDC-X program is yet another great milestone, as more industry leaders come on board to make NDC a reality,” says Gianni Pisanello, VP, NDC-X program, Amadeus. “Through our program, we are working together with American and partner airlines and travel sellers to enable a full end-to-end workflow using the IATA NDC standard. We have a busy pipeline ahead as we work towards full industrialization.”

Amadeus’s dedicated program unites all NDC initiatives across the company — as an IT provider and an aggregator — to drive NDC adoption across the industry.
