The AIEA kicks off 2018 in style with New Year’s Honours Event

Friday 19 January 2018 will see the inaugural New Year’s Honours at the Holiday Inn in Peterborough, where 40 different suppliers have had the opportunity to vote for members of the AIEA, the Alliance of Independent Event Agencies in the UK.

The AIEA is an Alliance of independent and privately owned event agencies working in the meetings, incentives, conference and events (MICE) sector, all of whom have unique and individual businesses but share many common goals and objectives.

Membership now exceeds over 30 different agencies and since the launch in February of 2017, the Alliance has held a range of events including a series of educational workshops covering everything from Data Protection to TOMS.

The New Year’s Honours have been designed to enable suppliers to have the upper hand for once as they have been invited to vote for members agencies in a series of irreverent categories including Funky Office and the Willy Wonka Award for agents who get most excited by Chocolate.

With a speed dating supplier one to one taking place in advance of the awards, the event is designed to be educational as well as fun, and provide members and suppliers vital networking and the opportunity to look at new business relationships and collaborations.

Paula Kelsey, Vice Chair of the Alliance said “We have been overwhelmed with the number of suppliers wanting to work with the AIEA since the launch and the New Year’s Honours seemed a good way to connect lots of the members with suppliers in a new and exciting format. The Awards themselves are fancy dress so we are looking forward to seeing just how creative the industry can be with our brief, and finding out just who has won the awards.”

Independent Agencies are invited to get involved and full details of the benefits of membership are available online
