Hire Space to launch crowdfunding campaign to celebrate 3rd birthday

London-based startup Hire Space, is inviting its users to become shareholders in its first crowdfunding campaign.
After a successful year in which Hire Space raised over £1 million in funding from angel investors, expanded to four new areas in the UK and tripled in size, the startup is now inviting its users and event professionals to have a share in the business and a part in the company’s future.

Money raised in the campaign will be used alongside the latest £750,000 raised in a recent fundraising round, to complete its UK expansion in the next year, pilot the concept in key cities such as Paris, New York and Hong Kong and place the business in a position to expand globally.

New shareholders will join Hire Space’s existing backers, made up of a group of angel investors that includes Karen Hanton MBE, founder of TopTable.

Edward Poland, COO and co-founder of Hire Space says: “Crowdfunding as a next step in our journey seemed like a no-brainer for us, the collaborative nature lends itself perfectly to our mission and will allow us to connect more closely with our users and the events industry as a whole.”

Hire Space is an innovative, online platform that took the ‘sharing economy’ and applied it to a new industry-venue finding. It connects users looking to book anything from private birthday parties, to meetings and large corporate events, with venues across the UK. The concept has grown rapidly over the last three years and now lists over 4000 venues and over 120,000 visits each month.

On the 1st and 3rd March, Hire Space will hold two events at its new London offices to launch the campaign and celebrate its third birthday.
