Green Light Events were chosen as the creative agency to organise the event for the Berlin based company. Founded in 2006 by partners Roisin Callaghan and Jane Gallagher, the Irish company has established itself as the leading event agency for Ireland’s tech sector.
“Being the event agency of choice for Zalando is something we are very proud of at Green Light Events,” said Daniel Halpin, Green Light Events Head of Sales. “We know the tech industry very well and we understand the needs of these companies, we also have a team of outstanding professionals who keep on delivering for us just like they have done for this event.”
For the opening ceremony, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D., was joined by Tánaiste Joan Burton T.D. and the German Ambassador to Ireland Matthias Höpfner in welcoming Robert Gentz, Founder and Co-CEO of Zalando to Dublin and to announce the creation of 200 new jobs in research and development, data analysis, data science and engineering.
Media attendees arrived to the warehouse by barge, where they were greeted by a live fashion show and an exhibition of Zalando’s newest online innovations. For the evening event the warehouse was turned into a cool and relaxed party space, where the VIP guests enjoyed fabulous food, drink and a fireside discussion with Co-CEO Robert Gentz and Eric Bowman, VP of Engineering at Zalando.
“With the event, we aimed to prove that Zalando is a strong new player on Dublin’s tech scene”, said Marc Lamik, responsible for the expansion of Zalando’s Technology. “We wanted to showcase our new office space in an original way through an exclusive event and Green Light Events helped us to achieve this is in every way. Their creativity and can-do attitude helped us to create a very memorable day for Zalando.”
