EVCOM Clarion Awards open for entry with improved entry platform and new categories

Now in their 12th year the EVCOM Clarions are the leading awards for recognising best practice in communicating the importance of CSR, diversity, community development, ethical, health, education and welfare issues in the public, charity, social enterprise and corporate sectors.

The EVCOM Clarions make a unique contribution to both business and society, by identifying the role of the communicator in encouraging an ethical culture, and fostering higher levels of engagement with key social or environmental issues.

This year sees a huge overhaul of the categories to better reflect the scope of our ever diversifying industry, there are now 23 categories to choose from split into 3 sub-groups: live events, film and broadcast.  A full list of categories can be found on the entry platform and deadline for entry is 19th June 2015.

Free nominations are also welcome for the Champion’s Award which is presented to individuals, companies or agencies for outstanding contributions to the communication of CSR, diversity, sustainability, community development, ethical, health or welfare issues.

Marco Forgione, EVCOM CEO said: “Building an effective brand demands a commitment to socially responsible behaviours. Whether engaging with internal or external audiences CSR, ethical and environmental commitments are fundamental. All audiences but particularly Millennials place greater importance on the behaviours of companies and organisations than anything else.

As well as ensuring that CSR is core to an organisation’s DNA they must communicate in a responsible and engaging manner. EVCOM Clarion Awards provide an internationally respected, industry leading recognition scheme for excellence and achievement in this growing field.”

The Clarion awards were established on the principle of raising standards and celebrating achievement and were launched at Parliament in 2003 where they received cross party political support.  Past winners range from BP, Barclays Bank, and Honda, to the achievements of BBC Two series It’s Not Easy Being Green, BBC Radio, An Inconvenient Truth, Billy Elliot the Musical and the National Theatre.  

The winners will be celebrated at a networking reception in September.
