This week sees the UK celebrate National Apprenticeship week and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy. This includes who has recruited four apprentices since 2013, through local organization HTP Training.

Emma Reeves, Operations Manager at advised “we firmly believe the only way business can grow is through the nurturing and development of new talent into our industry. The last year has sailed by and our first two apprentices, Alex and Shaun, successfully completed all their vocational modules and have become such an asset to, that it was the obvious choice to offer them a full time position at the end of the year.”

Based on this success have recently recruited two more NVQ Level 3 Business Administration Apprentices, Rosie Brown and Taisha Vurchio.

“Through an apprenticeship I have the opportunity to gain qualifications through a structured training programme at the same time as gaining work experience within my chosen industry.” explains Taisha.

For those companies concerned about the commitment involved in recruiting apprenticeships, Emma Reeves at explains “HTP provides comprehensive support not only for our apprentices but for us as a business allowing us to facilitate the recruitment of these apprenticeships whilst not disrupting our existing business operations. This has been invaluable for us although it is definitely the candidate’s incredible willingness to learn and absorb information that makes it a pleasure to be part of this apprentice program.”

Apprenticeship schemes offer work based learning whereby coursework and structured learning takes place alongside day-to-day working life and with 90% of apprentices staying in employment after finishing their apprenticeship and 71% staying on with the same employer (, 2015), apprenticeship schemes are laying the foundations for recruiting the right member of staff, with the relevant skills and knowledge to do the jobs required, for companies throughout the UK.
