Grass Roots accelerates plans for Meetings & Events integration

Giselle Ripken
Grass Roots, the world’s leading provider of employee and customer engagement solutions, has announced that following a successful 12 months, plans for further consolidation and integration for the Meetings & Events division are to be carried out sooner than anticipated.

Giselle Ripken, who leads Grass Roots DMS, the Delegate Management Services arm of the Meetings & Events area, is to step into the role of ‘Director, Meetings & Events’ with responsibility for both the Fleet and Marlow sites. She will report directly to Divisional Director, Des Mclaughlin. This move to consolidate the event management specialisms mirrors the formation of single Account Management and Sales teams, which operate across the Division with the wider global Group in mind.

Des Mclaughlin, Divisional Director for Grass Roots Meetings & Events, is pleased to be executing plans faster than expected: ‘Having formed talented solutions teams and performed better than projected in the last year, we have been able to move forward with structural plans even quicker than we originally planned. The timing just makes sense. We have also won significant business, which involves the provision of services across the four specialist Grass Roots divisions, and completely supports our integrated approach – it has given us great confidence that our strategy is solid. These various factors have given us the impetus to complete further integration plans which back our wider strategy of a single Meetings & Events proposition, in order to create greater value for our clients. Giselle Ripken is a very highly regarded industry professional and she has achieved great things with her area of the business. Broadening her scope, building on her success and streamlining our operations, are all imperative to realising our business strategy.’

Andy Lister, Grass Roots’ COO, thanks Jeremy Brown for his support and service as MD of the Marlow-based Events & Communications business over the last 9 months. ‘Jeremy has played an important role in Marlow and he has helped us through a difficult transitional period and hands the business over to Giselle in a much stronger position.’

Giselle Ripken has renowned industry experience and has worked in the Marlow business previously. She is looking forward to taking the operations forward: ‘I am thrilled to be taking on the new role of ‘Director, Meetings & Events’ for Grass Roots Meetings & Events.

We have recently won some brilliant accounts and I anticipate further successes and good news in the coming months. We have some extremely capable and passionate account teams across our business and they are delivering stunning events and logistics for clients around the world. It’s an exciting time for such a diverse, integrated and dynamic business – one I am proud to be a part of.’
