Montreux set to become the Hub of the Hydroelectric Industry in the autumn of 2016

As the delegates in Paris seal the deal to limit rising global temperatures, at the end of COP21, Aqua Media International Ltd. has just announced that its next conference, Hydro 2016, will take place in Montreux at 2m2c.

Riding on the success of Hydro 2015, in Bordeaux, the organisers are hoping to welcome another 1400 participants to Montreux from 10th to 12th October 2016.

The conference will reunite the forerunners in the hydroelectric field with a view to developing the long-term potential of hydropower with emphasis on socio-economic as well as environmental factors.

Switzerland, with 33 hydropower projects currently under construction, is at the forefront of this technology and serves as a unique reference point for those countries looking to invest in a source of energy which is clean, reliable and inexpensive.

The ongoing and close collaboration between the Riviera’s economic players and the tourist industry has certainly paid off. Thanks to the joint efforts of local hoteliers, the Montreux Riviera Convention Bureau and 2m2c, the town is the obvious choice for the organisers of Hydro 2016 and the ideal setting for a conference of this calibre.
