Surgeons’ Venues entertain more than 2500 city workers

Royal College of Surgeons christmas party
More than 2500 Edinburgh professionals celebrated their Christmas night out this year at The Royal College of Surgeons – as part of the institutions’ biggest ever festive season.
Taking place for three consecutive nights, from Thursday 15 December, its first ever ‘Ultimate Christmas Party’ made use of three of the individual venues to provide an all-encompassing festive offering.

The one-stop party idea proved a major hit with capital workers – and was completely sold out months in advance for the Friday and Saturday.

Scott Mitchell, Commercial Director at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, said: “Our first ever Ultimate Christmas Party is just another part of our dedication to providing the best entertainment and hospitality in Edinburgh – and I am delighted that it has been such a hit.

“The spaces we now have, with the Prince Phillip building included, made it an easy decision to continue to welcome festive revellers – and we’re pulling out all the stops for a lavish Christmas party night out.”

Snow canons, prosecco bar, cocktail lounge, karaoke and ceilidh all featured in The Quincentenary building and a casino, retro disco and gin lounge were hosted in the new Prince Phillip Building.

The stunning Playfair Hall also provided a dedicated chill out space – rounding off an experience to rival anything else available in the city in one of its most impressive settings.

Coinciding with the ambitious party night launch, the venue also hosted its Commercial Enterprises’ official 10th anniversary party on the Thursday night – with revellers joined by more than 300 of the capital’s key tourism and events influencers, including representatives from Marketing Edinburgh and Visit Scotland.

Scott added: “It made sense to officially celebrate the 10th anniversary on the Thursday night and it was a great excuse to join in ourselves on the first night of celebrations.”

Following on from the success of the first three nights of the “Ultimate Christmas Party Night” Scott has announced that in 2017 the programme of dates will be doubled to six nights and enquiries are already coming in for clients that wish to rebook.

Scott added: “We will look to enhance this experience further next year whilst maintaining excellent value, safety and security for all attendees.”
