London agents enjoy some #scotspirit on their doorstep

In a unique initiative, VisitScotland’s Business Events team took a little bit of Scotland on tour to deliver some #scotspirit to a selection of top conference and incentive agents around London and the M25 corridor.
Hosted on a luxury coach, the two-day tour proved a fantastic opportunity for seven key Scottish event partners to meet key contacts from eight agencies in a time-efficient and popular format.  The supplier and agency teams enjoyed around 40 sales appointments in two days.

For over ten years, “Scotland on Tour” has established itself as an event which provides agents with an easy way to learn and hear more about Scotland directly from Scottish experts without having to travel much further than the office front door.

Mihri Miralem, Market Manager – London & South England, at VisitScotland said:   “London and the South East is a key market for Scotland’s Business Events industry and our London events such as Scotland on Tour are a great way for industry partners to meet with MICE buyers from this market. From an event planner’s perspective the event is an excellent use of their time, providing the opportunity to meet seven Scottish suppliers in one go and find out all the latest developments and offerings from Scotland.”

Ollie Launn, Account Manager at Clive, said:   “We really enjoyed hopping on board the VisitScotland bus! It was a fun, engaging and much more interactive way of bringing the standard supplier meeting to life. There was a great variety of suppliers to give a well-rounded overview of what can be brought to Scotland in terms of incentives and conferences. Learning about them while having a Tunnocks teacake and an Irn Bru is just an added plus!"

Scottish partners taking part in Scotland on Tour were: The Balmoral, A Rocco Forte Hotel; Dundas Castle; Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre; Principal Hayley Hotels Scotland; The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh; Trump Turnberry, A Luxury Collection Resort; VisitAberdeenshire.

Participating agents were: Banks Sadler; ci events; CL Venues; Clive; Kuoni Destination Management; Conference Wise; Omega World Travel; Pacific World.
