Get hooked on the all new fishing programme at John O’Groats, Natural Retreats

John O’Groats, Natural Retreats
Summer is in full swing. Schools are out, temperatures are high and Natural Retreats have cast a whole new array of fishing adventures to embark on at their most northern outpost, John O’ Groats. With a wide selection of options to suit all ages and abilities, everyone from experts to enthusiastic amateurs can expect to experience the thrill of the tug on their reel.

Loch Fishing<br/> Head inland to the rugged and romantic lochs of Sutherland to experience trout and salmon fishing in the very heart of the iconic Scottish highlands. With 8 hour trips running from only £100, there is also the chance explore the great plains of Flow Country or the verdant and bubbling River Forss.

Transport, Rods, fish bait and human bait (in the form of a picnic lunch) are all provided, along with tuition if required. Want to turn the challenge up a gear? There is also the option to start the session later in the day, with a night-fishing experience that ends at 3am! Bookings need to be made at least 48hours before. Trout fishing is available from May–October and March-November for salmon fishing.

Guided Sea Fishing
Alternatively, for lapping waves and salty air, all aboard ‘Sisters’! Head out to sea in this traditional Scottish fishing boat for a stunning, alternative perspective of the dramatic coastline. With Coley, Cod, Mackerel and Halibut aplenty, a kaleidoscopic catch is guaranteed.

Take refuge after your day at sea or up in the Highlands in the luxury accommodation Natural Retreats has on offer: choose between one of the 3 bedroom lodges that stud the cliff edge or The Inn at John O’Groats. Carefully and creatively restored as part of a multi-million pound regeneration of the breath-taking local area, each of the one to four bedroom apartments have a contemporary and elegant feel and boast spectacular views out to sea of Pentland Firth, Stroma and Orkney.

An idyllic getaway perched on the wild Scottish coastline, Natural Retreats is a beach holiday with a difference. With Inverness just 1 hour and 40 minutes away from Gatwick, this is the ideal place getaway for those who are tight on time or money, or even those simply looking to try something different.
