SECC announces corporate event partnerships

Kathleen Warden Director of Conference Sales SECC
The SECC is putting its support behind the International Corporate Event (ICE) Awards and the Event Marketing Association (EMA) the not for profit industry association exclusively for in-house corporate event planners and marketers as part of a series of partnerships the venue is forging within the corporate event community.

The ICE Awards aims to recognise and reward excellence amongst in house corporate event organisers and has already gained high profile support from across the industry. Equally, the SECC is now a Gold Patron of the Event Marketing Association.

“This is a sector we take incredibly seriously and we’re looking to continue the growth of our domestic and international business with brands and corporates,” comments Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at the SECC. “We believe heavily in a partnership approach and through the ICE Awards and the Event Marketing Association we can do our bit to reward, recognise and forge relationships with in house corporate event planners.”

As part of its partnership for the EMA the SECC will also support the organisations’ ambition to grow its development of an EMA cluster in Scotland, and to encourage local corporate event organisers to take advantage of the membership benefits of the association.

We’re extremely grateful for the support SECC and other major industry bodies are giving us,” commented Richard Waddington, Chair of the EMA. “EMA is now a successful network in London bringing members together and running educational networking events in showcase venues; we’d now like to spread that network and create business clusters in other major cities around the UK. Working with key stakeholders like SECC will help us get this off the ground.”

The ICE Awards take place 9th July and Samme Allen, Head of Business Development, Corporate Events at the SECC, will sit on the judging panel, joining specialists from AstraZeneca, BNP Paribas, and Societe General. Richard Waddington Chair of the Event Marketing Association, will also attend the unveiling of the SECC’s newly refurbished Loch Suite on the 10th June, which will be attended by Scottish based event organisers.
