Scottish private island relaunch spa

The Isle of Eriska Hotel, Spa & Island located two hours from Glasgow has announced the relaunch of The Stables Spa. To celebrate the opening, Eriska is offering a special two night spa stay that includes two hours of treatments in the spa, breakfast, one dinner in the Michelin-starred restaurant and another dinner in the newly opened Deck Restaurant. The cost of the package is £499 per person.

The relaunched spa has a brand new state of the art luxury thermal suite with sauna, steam room and mud Rasul room. In addition to this, there are two luxurious new treatment rooms with statement baths, showers and stunning sea views over Loch Linnhe; as well as a new Life Fitness Gymnasium.

Eriska is a haven of tranquility, with long stretches of beautiful untouched beaches that are perfect for relaxing, reflective walks, whilst breathing in the freshest Scottish air. These new openings at the spa will help to make the 300 acre private island the go-to place to completely escape everyday life for a wellness break here in the UK.  What’s more, the island is witness to some of the most breathtaking sunsets to be found anywhere in Europe.

The two hours of treatments will firstly include a half an hour Rasul Mud Room experience. Guests will apply the finest mineral mud to their face and body before a gentle steam begins to fill the room. They will then relax on a heated lounger and let the mud and steam gently detox and de-stress, sending them into a state of ‘Zen’. Beneath a twinkling starry sky, they will feel a sense of calm and wellbeing.

The ritual finishes with a soft, warm tropical rain shower that removes the mud leaving the skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth. To achieve the ultimate cleanse and softening, this will be followed by either a 90 minute Holistic Back, Face and Scalp Treatment or a Holistic Total Body Care treatment.

In the evenings visitors will be waited on hand and foot as they are invited to the hotel’s sumptuous restaurant to eat a delicious supper cooked up by Ross Stovold. Ross was awarded his first Michelin star back in September for his creative, innovative dishes that are inspired by the nature of the world around him; the surrounding hills, waters and of course the natural larder of the island. There is also a newly launched Deck Restaurant, offering a more casual dining experience where guests will dine on one evening over their stay, overlooking the sea and the stunning scenery of the rugged highlands in the distance.

There are 25 luxurious bedrooms at the hotel. The Luxury Spa Suites and the two bed-roomed Cottage Suites are complete with their own private hot tubs. Last July, Eriska also launched two luxury self-catering lodges – the Hilltop Reserves. These one bedroom apartments are set back away from the main hotel, on the hillside with outdoor private hot tubs and unbeatable views over the loch with the Isle of Lismore in the distance.

There are endless possibilities for guests on the island. The heavenly indoor swimming pool, spa facilities, the driving range, indoor tennis courts and 9-hole golf course are complimentary to guests. Kayaking, whisky tasting, horse riding, beach yoga and clay pigeon shooting can all be arranged upon request. Or why not board a private speed boat and cruise through the sea to visit some famous sites from the Bond movies?

Easily accessible from Oban, Connel Airport, Glasgow and Edinburgh, guests can arrive by car, boat, or even aboard a private sea plane from Glasgow Airport.

The spa, incredible food, fresh air and serene location all help to give Eriska a magical feel that truly is unrivalled, making it the perfect destination for a wellness break in the UK.
