EICC is newest major venue for the Edinburgh International Festival

Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has become the newest major venue for the Edinburgh International Festival and will stage two new works in its world-leading Lennox Suite, which was officially opened earlier this year by HRH The Princess Royal.

A world premiere, ‘The Encounter’ by director and performer Simon McBurney will run for twelve performances. Additionally, a European premiere of ‘887’, a new work by legendary director, playwright and ‘visual wizard’ (New York Times) Robert Lepage, will run for ten nights, both in August 2015.

Welcoming the fact the EICC is to become one of the six major venues for the Edinburgh International Festival, Chief Executive, Marshall Dallas said: “We are delighted to take on the role of providing a major stage for important new work in the Edinburgh International Festival. In our new Lennox Suite we offer a uniquely flexible space that gives unrivalled scope for innovative stagecraft and the creation of memorable performances. Audiences have the opportunity of enhancing their experience by choosing from a selection of new pre-show hospitality options, which are available to enjoy in our Platform 5 Café.”

Pre-show hospitality options can be reserved online via when booking performance tickets.

EICC will also host the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival for the 17th consecutive year in 2015 and as [email protected] celebrates its 9th year on The Edinburgh Fringe.
