Aberdeen secures more business at major European showcase event

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) have been exhibiting at the prestigious IMEX, Frankfurt this week, showcasing AECC and Aberdeen to the international market.
IMEX is an annual exhibition held in Germany which attracts 9,000 visitors in the incentive travel, meetings and events industry.  With 4,000 of these visitors being hosted buyers, IMEX puts AECC directly in front of bookers of these key events.

AECC exhibited at the show in partnership with VisitScotland promoting the region and the Venue as the ideal place to bring worldwide events.

Aberdeen has had some fantastic Conference wins recently and the programme at AECC welcomes a varied offering of both national and international conferences within the fields of energy, medical and science.

New wins for AECC include Hydro14, announced earlier this month, which will take place on 28th-30th October 2014 at AECC plus three other prestigious Conferences which will announce their 2015 dates in the coming weeks.

International Conferences coming to Aberdeen in 2014 include: Gut Microbiology and Joint North Sea Conference taking place next month; and Deep Offshore Technology.

National Conferences wins for Aberdeen in 2014 include: the National Low Carbon Networking Innovation Conference and the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.

The cumulative visitor number of these events reaches over 5,000 delegates.

Brian Horsburgh, AECC’s Managing Director, commented: “AECC are proud to actively promote the Venue and the Region internationally and exhibitions such as IMEX is the perfect platform to attract and touch-base with clients.  We have a great reputation and continue to attract high profile events to the City.  Prestigious events coming to AECC in future years include the Routes Europe Airline Conference in April 2015 which will bring over 1,200 delegates to the Region, the European Society for Rural Sociology in August 2015 and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Oceans Conference in June 2017.”
