You're hired! Scottish Minister for Youth Employment meets latest apprentices at Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa

Yesterday,13 Feb, Angela Constance, Minister for Youth Employment met some of the young apprentices at Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa by Polmont in East Central Scotland who are gaining invaluable skills and training to prepare for a rewarding career in hospitality.

17 year-old Peter Meechan from Falkirk helped the Minister prepare a succulent steak on a Josper Grill within the recently relaunched Scottish Steak Club at Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa. 

Having recently completed his chef apprenticeship at the hotel through a Bronze Award run by Positive Qualities with Falkirk Council, Peter is now employed as a trainee chef at the 4 star hotel.

Brett Ingle, General Manager Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa commented: “As Angela Constance, Minister for Youth Employment saw this morning, we are very proud to be able to give youngsters the opportunity to develop their self-confidence and skills as they aspire to develop a rewarding career in the hospitality industry.”  

The hotel part of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, 2013-2014 AA Hotel Group of the Year has 141 employees, with 50 per cent of the workforce aged between the ages of 16 and 24.
