Total renovation of Maritim’s Stuttgart hotel

Major remodelling nears completion

Maritim is proving its determination to maintain a very strong position in Europe’s first-class hotel sector. This can be seen in the total makeover of one of its prime German properties, the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart.
Although there have been periodic renovations of sections of the hotel since its opening in 1993, Maritim is now putting the finishing touches to a massive investment in the renovation of the whole hotel, including the 555 guestrooms, the bathrooms, the kitchens and the conference facilities.

The work has been entrusted to a Maritim subsidiary company, Reinhardt and Sander, supervised personally by that company’s manager, Markus Schuetzdeller.

A uniquely attractive colour scheme of beige and anthracite has been chosen for the wallpaper, blinds, carpets and coverings. The bathrooms all now feature the latest technology and have been decked out in dark-brown granite.

The hotel manager, Alexander Buck, describes his hotel’s new look is ‘exceptionally smart’. He confirms that ‘Guests love it, too.’

The modernisation of all the living areas in the rooms is now complete. For the most part, the work on the bathrooms in the park wing, the public areas, the meeting rooms and the Rotisserie and Reuchlin restaurants is finished, too.

Including the improvements planned for the hotel’s underground car park, the renovation work will be completed by August 2016.

The Maritim Hotel Stuttgart is located on the west side of the city and its central location has always been a major selling point, as it is just a short distance from the city centre. It also offers idyllic views over Hoppenlau park.

The Königsstrasse – Stuttgart’s shopping mile and one of the longest pedestrian zones in Germany – can be comfortably reached by foot in just a few minutes.

For event planners, the historic indoor riding arena is an attractive and unique facility, which can cater for up to 700 delegates. There is a wide range of other spaces and configurations and there is a direct, underground passageway to the culture and conference centre, the Liederhalle.

Maritim Hotelgesellschaft is Germany’s largest owner-managed hotel group. In addition to its nationwide network of 34 hotels in Germany, there are Maritim properties in seven other countries, including China, Egypt, Mauritius, Malta, Netherlands, Turkey, and Spain The group has plans to maintain its expansion to strategic locations in Europe and elsewhere.
