New Head Chef at the helm in Docklands

A recently refurbished waterfront restaurant in East London has been boosted further with the appointment of a new head chef.
Crowne Plaza London - Docklands hotel has appointed Pawel Motzek (35) to captain the popular Docklands Bar & Grill at the property, managed by the UK’s leading independent hotel management company, Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH).

Pawel, an East Londoner, originally from Katowice in Poland, previously held the position of Executive Head Chef at Sunborn Yacht Hotel, before taking on the new role.

Pawel said: “Having travelled widely from an early age, I have developed a passion for discovering and trying new and exciting world ingredients.

“This has really been the inspiration behind my new menu. I want guests to feel at home when they come to Docklands Bar & Grill, no matter where in the world they’re travelling from.

“For me, it’s all about fresh, simple, fusion cooking that won’t break the bank.” Pawel’s appointment follows the hotel’s £70,000 investment in a new-look restaurant, reflective of the local environment.  

Daniel Loosley, general manager of Crowne Plaza London - Docklands, said: “We want to put our restaurant on the map for its innovative menus and contemporary dining environment. With our new-look, new leadership and new menu, we’re really making waves in the Docklands this autumn.”  

Docklands Bar and Grill’s new menu launched on 21st November 2016 and includes highlight shared platters and flavours from the world dishes.  

The hotel bar features panoramic views of the historic Royal Victoria Dock, O2 and Canary Wharf.  

Crowne Plaza London - Docklands has 210 guest rooms, offers a complimentary shuttle to Canary Wharf on weekdays and features an on-site taxi company.
