New General Manager for one of Shropshire’s premier golf and spa resorts

Jamie Macdonald
Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa has welcomed Jamie Macdonald as its new general manager. With over 28 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Jamie brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the luxury Shropshire-based resort.

Having started his career at the Lymm Hotel in 1988 as a glass collector, Jamie went on to manage the Park House Hotel in Shifnal, Shropshire and Newbury Manor Hotel in West Berkshire, before becoming General Manager of the Lymm Hotel in 2015.

Debbie Taylor, Regional Managing Director, commented: “Jamie proved himself to be a very successful General Manager during his tenure at the Lymm Hotel. We are thrilled to announce his new role at Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa and are sure he will build upon the resort’s position as a leisure and business destination.”

The hotel’s golf offering is renowned in the area and it once employed Ian Woosnam – a Masters champion and world-famous golfer – in his early days as a professional. It also regularly welcomed Sandy Lyle to its courses, another sporting legend and one of Britain’s top golfers during the 1980s.

Commenting on his new role, Jamie said: “The Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa is already an excellent hotel in a stunning location. My ambition is to continue to grow the hotel’s reputation for quality both in the local community and with guests from across the UK.”

The Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa is set amidst acres of peaceful gardens and is the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. Conveniently close to motorway networks, the easily accessible hotel offers a range of leisure facilities, with three professionally designed golf courses, a fully equipped gym, an 18m pool and a luxury spa.
