DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central announces new management team

Team to be lead by new General Manager Craig Munro

Craig Munro has been appointed the General Manager of the newly re-branded DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, the brand announced today. The city centre hotel on Cambridge Street re-launched in late September after an extensive £11 million refurbishment, unveiling sophisticated new rooms and stylish new conference rooms and amenities.

Craig joins the business after a long and very successful career working for Accor in a number of their Scottish operations. Most recently, the native Glaswegian served as the General Manager of the Novotel Glasgow Centre hotel and the Novotel Edinburgh Centre hotel respectively. 

Craig said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at the new Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Central hotel. The hotel’s refurbishment has breathed new life into this fantastic property and our team is ready to welcome new and returning guests to the hotel. We’re poised for a busy and exciting 2017 and we hope that travellers and local Glaswegians alike will join us for a drink in our new bar Cask or pop in for some at our new concept restaurant Brisket. 

Another addition to the management team is Frances Hope in a newly created role of Business Development Director. Frances spent the last 14 months at the Hilton Carlton Edinburgh where she played a key role in the refurbishment and transition of the hotel to the Hilton brand. For the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, Frances will lead the sales team, provide commercial direction and oversee business development for the hotel. Previously Frances worked at the Radisson Blu Glasgow as Director of Sales & Marketing and brings with her a wealth of local knowledge and experience.   

Additionally, Terry McBeth has joined the hotel as the new Director of Sales, Corporate. Terry’s focus will be to secure and manage the corporate customer base. Prior to joining the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central hotel, Terry worked in several sales positions within the Hilton organization in Scotland such as Area Sales Manager for Hilton Worldwide and Assistant Conference & Events Sales Manager for the Caledonian Hilton Hotel. Most recently he was an Account Director at ExecSpace in Edinburgh. 

Finally, Harjeet Kaur has been named the hotel’s new MICE Sales Manager. Harjeet’s focus will be on driving both corporate and social meetings, conferences and events, which will be a main focus for DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central in 2017. Harjeet will be responsible for events and bookings in the hotel’s 11 meeting rooms with a particular focus on the hotel’s Grand Ballroom, which, at a capacity of 1,500 attendees, is Scotland’s largest hotel conference facility. DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central is located at Cambridge Street, Glasgow, G2 3HN, United Kingdom. The hotel offers great airport transport links and is within 14 kilometres of Glasgow International Airport, which offers flights to over 100 destinations.
