Blenheim Palace appoints new Chief Executive

Dominic Hare
Blenheim Palace has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive.
Dominic Hare, who is currently Finance Director at the Oxfordshire stately home, will take over from John Hoy at the beginning of 2017.
He will be assisted in the new role by Roger File, Blenheim’s Chief Operating Officer and Property Director and Operations Director Heather Carter.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Dominic spent 10 years in corporate finance and investment banking, specialising in the media and telecoms sector before taking on the role of Finance Director for Blenheim Palace in 2003.

Commenting on his new job Dominic said he was ‘humbled’ to be taking over from John Hoy.   “John has been a wonderful leader here at Blenheim Palace as well as a great friend and mentor.

“He has helped build this Estate into a thriving business which is winning in so many areas – record visitor numbers, record numbers of new houses being built, record mineral water volumes, record planning consents, record levels of restoration and a pipeline of success still to come.

“I am looking forward to building on the success John has achieved for the business and exploring the new opportunities which lie ahead” he added.

Current Chief Executive John Hoy is moving on to take up a new role leading the national rural practice of leading property consultancy Bidwells.

“It has been an amazing honour and privilege to work here at Blenheim Palace since early 2003 and I am so proud of what we have created together,” said John.

“I am delighted Dom has agreed to take over as Chief Executive as he has all the skills necessary to succeed and thrive in that role – indeed, Dom, Roger and Heather will take the business to new heights with the support they will enjoy from a highly talented management team and from a truly inspirational workforce,” he added.
