Grand Hotel Park appoints new Executive Chef, Alex Rüdlin

Grand Hotel Park, Gstaad’s luxury five-star mountain resort, is delighted to welcome new Executive Chef, Axel Rüdlin to the hotel’s expert culinary team. Joining the team ahead of another busy winter season, Chef Axel Rüdlin promises to deliver indulgent and creative menus, combining the traditional and the contempary to bring an exciting and inspiring gastranomic offering to Gstaad.

Having studied catering and hospitality at the renowned Heidelberg Hotel Management School University, and worked at some of the world’s top restaurants, Axel’s knowledge, experience and proficiency means he is set to deliver an abundance of delicious delights, alongside his team. Rüdlin brings a wealth of experience from 15 years working in first class hotels, including the Restaurant Jöhri’s Talvo, Restaurant Bareiss, the Schlosshotel Lerbach, Restaurant Dieter Müller in Germany and the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains in Switzerland.

Axel expresses excitement for his new home in Gstaad, commenting: "Gstaad is beautifully scenic and working there gives you a unique feeling of standing on the mountains and seeing the world from above. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Grand Hotel Park team and look forward to bringing my culinary creativity to this unique hotel.”

Axel Rüdlin will undoubtedly inspire his team at Grand Hotel Park with his inventive recipes and appetite for imaginitive cooking. His culinary flare extends beyond the kitchen as he continues to contribute to wider cooking trends that focus on the use of healthier, regional produce that is both rich and flavoursome, comparing his cooking approach to a "Purist, Mediterranean style that focuses on taste, because for me that is the most important part.”

Joining ahead of Grand Hotel Park’s winter season, Axel will be developing an exciting selection of new winter menus for Grand Hotel Park’s various eateries, including the hotel’s gourmet eatery, Restaurant, serving traditional Swiss favourites and modern Mediterranean delicacies and the Gallery; Grand Hotel Park’s all-day dining restaurant serving fresh and seasonal dishes.
