Middle Temple appoints new Event Sales Manager

Central London venue, Middle Temple, has appointed Kristina Schmidt as event sales manager. Schmidt joins Middle Temple from the Sheraton Skyline Hotel (part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide) where she worked as events manager; handling all group rooms and banqueting processes to maximise revenue.

As the event sales manager at Middle Temple, Schmidt will promote the striking rooms available for functions to both commercial and corporate clients; handling all re-active sales, incoming enquiries and managing the confirmed bookings diary to increase revenue by maximising concurrent events. In addition to this, Schmidt will conduct market sector analysis of new business opportunities and assist in the preparation and the implementation of the annual marketing plan to promote the event facilities at the venue.

Schmidt said: “I am thrilled to be working at a prestigious venue with exceptional history. I plan to activate sales campaigns which identify new commercial opportunities and secure high profile events. My operational and banqueting experience will ensure events run smoothly and guests receive quality service from initial enquiry through to delivery; whether it’s an event for 4 to 1,000.”

Schmidt has previously worked as cluster conference and events co-ordination manager for Principal Hayley Hotels and Conference Venues, where she oversaw a team of six and managed large events including the Elle Style Awards and lunches during the London 2012 Olympic Games for VISA. Schmidt has also worked as event manager at five-star hotel The Grove, catering sales executive at the Grand Hyatt Muscat and food and beverage co-ordinator at the Hyatt Regency London.
