Goodison Park appoints new catering services director

Julie Tandy
Julie Tandy has taken the helm at Goodison Park, home to Everton Football Club, following an 18 month stint as general manager at Huddersfield’s The John Smith’s Stadium.
The conference and event facilities at both venues are managed by leading UK catering company Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events.

In her new role, Julie will be responsible for managing hospitality, public stadium operations and conference and events and driving sales revenues at the stadium, which is one of Merseyside’s leading corporate and event venues.

In a career spanning almost 20 years, Julie has held management roles with some of the UK’s most prestigious arts organisations, including front of house manager at the National Portrait Gallery and project manager at Sadler’s Wells Trust Ltd.

She also worked extensively within the leisure industry, as regional manager for LA Fitness and general manager at the Lingfield Park Racecourse, prior to joining the Sodexo team at The John Smith’s Stadium, which is home to Huddersfield Town Football Club and Huddersfield Giants Rugby League Club.

“I have loved working in a sporting environment,” said Julie, “and I am delighted to be taking the reins at Goodison Park.

“The stadium holds a very special place in the hearts of Mersey-siders and of The Blues fans, the world over and I hope to build on its existing, excellent reputation as the ‘go to’ venue for corporate and social events.”

“Julie is a very strong commercial operator who, during her time at The John Smith’s Stadium, acquired a thorough understanding and appreciation of the opportunities stadia bring to the conference and events market,” said Natasha Carr, marketing manager at Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events.

“She will be an asset to Goodison Park and we wish her every success in her new role.”

Goodison Park has nine conference and events suites along with a number of executive, pitch-side boxes with uninterrupted views of the hallowed turf, which are ideal for smaller meetings, lunches or dinners.
