General Manager of Flemings Mayfair Henrik Muehle has been re-appointed to the Small Luxury Hotels International Board of Directors for another three-year term.
Henrik has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, beginning his hospitality career in his native Germany and in France; he was originally introduced to Small Luxury Hotels in his position at Tylney Hall in Hampshire. In 2002, he took his first General Manager role at The Capital Hotel in London, introducing it to the SLH whilst the restaurant, Outlaw’s, earned two Michelin stars.

In 2009, he moved to St. James’s Hotel and Club as Managing Director, once again signing with the SLH and opening a new restaurant, Seven Park Place – Michelin-starred within a year of opening under William Drabble.

After five successful years, Henrik joined luxury boutique hotel Flemings Mayfair. As General Manager, he oversees every aspect of the management of the hotel, which includes the current £14 million refurbishment of the suites, apartments and 129 new-look bedrooms as well as a brand new restaurant and bar from Michelin-starred chef Shaun Rankin, set to open in May 2016.

Henrik has been an active member of the SLH board for the past three years, also having served as a sub-committee board member to work on the new five-year plan, introduced during an SLH conference last month. He also serves as a sub-committee member for the SLH budgets.

Filip Boyen, CEO for SLH, says: “Henrik has been an active supporter of Small Luxury Hotels of the World for many years and through various chapters of his career in the luxury hotel industry. His thorough understanding of the SLH brand and support of our new ‘independently minded’ direction has been invaluable as we celebrate 25 years of business and set the strategic direction for the next 25 years and beyond. He is a great asset to our Board of Directors and we welcome him for a second term.”
