New role strengthens Sodexo team at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

One of Scotland’s leading catering and events companies has made a new appointment to bolster its operation at the prestigious Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE).
Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events has appointed sales specialist, Stephanie Lee to the new role of Sales and Revenue Manager. The position has been created following Sodexo’s recent success in securing a five-year extension to its contract with RBGE, to provide event management, catering and retail services.

The new £21m contract has extended Sodexo’s remit to include RBGE’s recently refurbished Lecture Theatre, a bright and airy space able to cater for meetings, conferences or seminars for up to 250 people.

Stephanie joined Sodexo as a national account executive five years ago, prior to this she was a sales executive at the Radisson Blu in Edinburgh. She brings a wealth of sales and events experience from the hotel and leisure sector to her new position.

Tasked with raising the profile of RBGE as a world-class conference and events venue, Stephanie will focus on building sales and managing a variety of events from large scale conferences and product launches, to social occasions and corporate meetings and dinners.

“RBGE is a fantastic venue with a number of diverse and unique event spaces available, all set against the tranquil backdrop of one of the country’s most important and historic Gardens. We are looking forward to an exciting year and are already marketing the recently refurbished Lecture Theatre for use from February 2016.”

Around 80 temporary and permanent Sodexo employees are based at RGBE, which receives 800,000 visitors annually. Each year the venue hosts around 200 social and corporate events including more than 80 weddings, as well as the popular Botanic Lights in autumn and a full Christmas and Hogmanay events programme.

Sodexo has some exciting plans instore for 2016 including a refresh of the existing Terrace Café, which will bring a more contemporary visitor experience to the café, as well as local provenance focused menus to be enjoyed by all the family.
