Massimiliano Binda announced as General Manager at the Connaught in Mayfair

Distinguished hotelier Massimiliano Binda has been announced as the new General Manager of the Connaught, London’s leading five-star hotel in the heart of Mayfair.
In his new role as the General Manager of the Connaught, Massimiliano Binda will be charged with leading the world-renowned hotel into a new era. Following an extensive restoration in 2007, the hotel is home to some of London’s most exclusive offerings, with 121 rooms and suites, the two Michelin-starred Hélène Darroze, recently voted the World’s Best Female Chef, and the multi-award-winning Connaught Bar, which was recently being voted as one of the top ten bars in the world at the 50 Best awards.

The hotel also boosts Europe’s first Aman spa, and enjoys one of London’s best locations, sitting at the top of Mount Street at the very heart of Mayfair village.

Binda joins the Connaught from the Mandarin Oriental Pudong in Shanghai, where he held the position of Hotel Manager from 2012. A native Italian, with over 24 years of experience in the luxury hospitality sector, Massimiliano Binda started his career with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and previous roles include successful terms in London, Munich, Geneva, Marrakech, Hong Kong and most recently Shanghai.  He also spent time in Vietnam at Hanoi's landmark Hotel Legend Metropole.

Binda graduated from the Instituto Professionale “L. Cobianchi” and Instituto Professionale “Franzosini” Verbania, Italy, after which he also attended courses at the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne.  He is fluent in Italian, English, French and German and has recently enjoyed learning some Mandarin during his time in Shanghai.
