Q. What year was the first TMS held?
A.The Meetings Show first opened its doors in 2013. As we approach our fifth edition I am delighted to say it has gone from strength to strength. Last year saw us move into Olympia’s Grand Hall for the biggest show to date and we are looking forward to welcoming a wealth of industry professionals to the show next week.

Q. What number of exhibitors from how many countries can we meet this year?
A. This year we have 700 exhibitors from six continents, ranging from whole countries and cities to individual venues, industry suppliers and technology experts. At my last count, we had over 100 individual countries represented! We are also delighted to be supported by all the leading industry associations, who work in close partnership with the show throughout the year.

Q. What networking opportunities will we have in addition to visiting the stands?
A. Networking plays a key role at TMS. Ranging over various drinks receptions, parties and even a gin tour, the exhibitors have created a host of opportunities to meet and to develop relationships across the industry. We have post-show tours for hosted buyers, as well as the Hosted Buyer Welcome Reception at De Vere The Grand Connaught Rooms on Monday 12th June and the MPI Rendezvous Post Show Charity Party, which kicks off at 17.30 on Tuesday 13th at the Hand & Flower.

Q. What benefits are you offering to Hosted Buyers from the UK?
A. Above all else it is an opportunity to spend time meeting people and developing industry knowledge. Buyers receive complimentary travel and accommodation if required, as well as access to onsite hospitality and the all-important diary that allows them to plan meetings with the suppliers most relevant to them and their business.

Q What is the format this year for the education sessions?
A. There are 10 streams to the education programme, and there is something to be of great value to each different level of delegate. To see what’s on and most relevant, visitors should check out the online agenda at: Education kicks off with our dedicated Association Meetings Conference on Monday, 12 June at the Barbican. The TMS education includes several innovations, such as Agency Training Workshops and Thursday Spotlight. Overall there are more than 80 sessions this year, ranging from focused operational topics through to board level discussions designed to help businesses run more effectively. Streams include Technology, Marketing & Branding, Meeting Design, Healthcare and Leadership & Management, as well as dedicated content for PAs in addition to Agency and Association days.

Q. Has the security level been raised this year?
A. The safety and security of our attendees is of paramount importance to the show team. Our venue and security partners have a raft of procedures in place to minimise risk. Again, there is a mandatory 100% bag search as well as a strong security presence. London is still one of the world’s safest cities and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the Show next week.

Q. Do you have a final point to make for ITCM’s UK and global audience?
