Jonathan Cohen

Jonathan Cohen, the former Head of Events for Visit Denmark, is making the knowhow he gained over the past 25 years available through his new business, Azimuth Marketing Communications

’I haven’t had 25 years’ experience in the MICE sector’, insists Jonathan Cohen. ‘I have had 25 years of experiences.’ In essence he is saying that no matter what turns up, what problems have to be faced or what promotions have to be initiated, he has almost certainly come across them all before and can judge the best way to tackle them. ‘I know what works and what doesn’t work’, he says.

Rakesh Joomuck

Rakesh Joomuck of Air Mauritius talks to ITCM’s Sydney Paulden

Event organisers are quite right in imagining the island of Mauritius as a holiday paradise in the Indian Ocean. From then on, however, there are many misconceptions.

Rupert Queitsch

‘The JW Marriott Marquis is exactly what Dubai needs’, says Rupert Queitsch, its General Manager

You might have thought that Dubai had everything, but something big is growing into the skyline that, according to Rupprecht Queitsch, (who is happy to be called ‘Rupert’), is something that Dubai needs badly.
‘It is’, he says, ‘the missing ingredient that Dubai needs to become the truly complete MICE destination.’
When you hear that Rupert is General Manager of a new hotel opening in October 2012, you might guess that it is his hotel that is going to fill the gap. Some gap. Some hotel.
