Bath’s most fashionable hotel celebrates new Lace in Fashion exhibition with special private lunch, talk and tour: ‘Luxury Design and Traditional Craftsmanship’

The Grade-II listed Gainsborough Bath Spa has become an architectural style icon in Bath thanks to its striking blend of contemporary and classical Georgian design. Where better to host a fashion-focused lunch, talk and tour on 2nd February 2017 in celebration of the Fashion Museum’s new Lace in Fashion exhibition?

In partnership with the Fashion Museum and Emmy London, The Gainsborough is offering a delicious two-course lunch in The Gainsborough Restaurant, followed by a fascinating talk on ‘Luxury Design and Traditional Craftsmanship’ by Emmy Scarterfield. Emmy, founder of Emmy London, is one of the country’s most prestigious fashion designers specialising in luxury bridal shoes and accessories. A £50.00 discount voucher will be given to everyone attending the talk which can be used online or in Emmy London (T&Cs apply).

Emmy’s talk at The Gainsborough will be followed by a private, guided tour of the new Lace in Fashion exhibition at the Bath Fashion Museum by Curator, Eleanor Summers. This major new exhibition showcases the craftsmanship of over 50 exquisite pieces and how lace has been used in fashion from Shakespearean times to present day.

The event on 2nd February 2017 includes the following:
• Delicious two-course lunch in The Gainsborough Restaurant
• Fine artisan teas and coffees in the Somerset Room
• Exclusive talk on luxury design by Emmy Scarterfield
• Private guided tour of the new Lace in Fashion exhibition

With its location in the heart of this grand old Georgian city, The Gainsborough Bath Spa is the perfect hotel in which to enjoy the special ‘Luxury Design and Traditional Craftsmanship’ talk and lunch. During 2016’s Bath In Fashion event we hosted some of the fashion-world’s most influential designers and writers, from Harper’s Bazaar’s Justine Picardie to Julien MacDonald. If you have time while you’re here, why not take a look at the sophisticated Canvas Room, genteel bar, stunningly beautiful staircase and award-winning Spa Village – all devised by New York-based interior designers Champalimaud Design. We hope that our beautiful hotel will leave you feeling inspired by style and ready to soak up your fashion experience.

The ‘Luxury Design and Traditional Craftsmanship’ event at The Gainsborough costs £30.
Nightly rates at The Gainsborough start from £285 on a room-only basis.
