Hello New Year, Aloe New You! at Bohemia Suites & Spa, Gran Canaria

Bohemia Suites & Spa, Gran Canaria spa

Five-star hotel makes the most of one of the island’s most abundant plants, Aloe Vera, as part of a revitalising new spa treatment

Bohemia Suites & Spa, one of the few five-star hotels on Gran Canaria, is now giving guests the chance to kick-start their 2017 wellbeing journey with a positive mind and healthy body, thanks to a new Aloe Vera Canarian Delight treatment available at the hotel’s Siam Spa. Created especially using the island’s revered Aloe Vera plant, one of the best “natural medicines” found on the island, combined with black sea sand body polish, the new pampering spa treatment is designed to rejuvenate guests for the year ahead and counter any feelings of exhaustion or overindulgence that may arise following the busy holiday period.

Mother Nature blessed Gran Canaria with a climate that allows the Aloe grown locally on the island to produce a natural gel that does not need to be treated, meaning it is 100% natural when used in treatments. Aloe that grows on Gran Canaria is considered to be some of the best in the world, and rightly so, thanks to its high purity. Aloe Vera has an endless range of beneficial properties for hydration and skin care, and is known for its healing and soothing powers. With this in mind the forward-thinking team at Siam Spa has developed a new revitalising treatment using the traditional healing plant so that guests can benefit from the ‘Wand of the Heaven’, as the Native Americans named it. The treatment has been created to leave skin feeling soothed and moisturised, while the nourishing properties of the plant are guaranteed to get rid of any dullness that may have appeared over the winter months.

The hour-long Aloe Vera Canarian Delight treatment is available now at the hotel’s exquisite Siam Spa at a cost of €99 and includes an exotic and cooling body treatment, which combines the softness of the sand with the amazing effects of the 100% pure Aloe Vera gel from the island.

To compliment this new relaxing treatment, for those undertaking a Dry January Bohemia has created an array of quirky EANABs, also known as Equally Appealing Non-Alcoholic Beverages. Drink your way to health with this special range of detoxifying drinks bursting with exotic fresh fruit and vegetables, all boasting a variety of vitamins and ensuring you hit your five a day. Guests can enjoy the mocktails, along with artisanal iced teas and lemonade at the hotel’s lively Sapphire pool bar, whilst watching the sun rise or set over the Maspalomas sand dunes and majestic Atlantic Ocean.

At this adults-only five-star boutique hotel, you'll also find a state-of-the-art gym where active guests can work up a sweat, or those feeling less energetic can try their hand at a Tai Chi class or private yoga session on the Siam Spa’s stunning rooftop terrace. Overlooking the scenic Maspalomas sand dunes, and with the fresh sea air blowing from the Atlantic Ocean, Bohemia Suites & Spa makes the ideal spot for health-conscious guests to keep active and enjoy a healthy detox to begin 2017. The nearby sand dunes also make for a unique setting for a morning walk or challenging run and the island itself provides some beautiful hillside walks, cycle routes and horseback riding opportunities. Other activities for guests of Bohemia to enjoy include tennis, golf, squash, parachuting and paragliding, and with the beach on its doorstep, while water babies can try activities such as scuba diving, windsurfing, surfing and fishing.

The aptly named rooftop restaurant, 360°, has impressive panoramic views of the island, with a menu offering light and nutritious local dishes that boast multiple health benefits but don’t compromise on taste. A stay at this five-star retreat this new year promises to leave guests feeling relaxed and restored, to get 2017 off to the best start.
