UK Hotels Race to celebrate Front of House festival

Employees working at properties managed by the UK’s leading independent hotel management company, Redefine|BDL Hotels, donned their trainers and coat tails to celebrate the hardworking hospitality industry within the UK.

Employees from across Redefine|BDL Hotels’ portfolio of 45 hotels across the UK took part in a raft of local activities, including the fiercely competitive tray races, to coincide with the main Waiters Day Race in London’s Hyde Park.

The Front of House Festival, now into its third year, is designed to challenge public perception of the hospitality industry, whilst highlighting the wealth of career opportunities within the sector and celebrate front of house professionals throughout the UK.

To recognise the hard work carried out by employees, Redefine|BDL Hotels encouraged all properties within their portfolio to take part in the week-long festival, culminating in the Tray Races. Kind hearted participants raised money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Redefine|BDL Hotels’ chosen charity, with the 2016 grand total already at £38,548.

Susan Bland, Chief Human Resource Officer, for Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “The Front of House Festival is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the hard work of our front-of-house teams and thank them for their dedication in ensuring our guests are so well looked after.

“At Redefine|BDL Hotels we are committed to providing employees with rewarding careers within the industry and are always delighted to lay on exciting initiatives and activities for our colleagues to take part in. It’s also a great chance for everyone to do their bit for our chosen charity whilst having some fun.

“I’d like to thank every team throughout the portfolio for taking part and organising such fantastic celebrations. They all help show that hospitality is a great industry to get involved in.”
