Hilton London Bankside introduces new healthy meetings concept

Hilton London Bankside healthy meeting concept food offering

Brain boosting menus and fitness classes for meetings and conference visitors

This month sees the launch of a brand new wellness meetings concept at vibrant design hotel Hilton London Bankside. Gone are the plates of pastries and mundane activities, Hilton London Bankside are shaking things up with healthier menu options, outdoor exercise classes and a meeting schedule aimed at reducing stress and increasing general wellbeing.  .

On average, full-time workers spend more than one-third of their day, five days per week in the workplace. Studies have shown that a healthy working environment increases work productivity, reduces work absenteeism, lowers health care costs and increases the likelihood of employees taking up new challenges.  With this in mind Hilton London Bankside have created a wellness package designed for meetings which prioritises mental and physical wellbeing.

One of the key ways to stay healthy is of course eating a balanced and nutritious diet. Too often during meetings and conferences this is overlooked in exchange for heavy carbohydrates, rich dishes and calorific desserts. Combined with the fact that groups remain seated for the majority of the day, employees can often feel fatigued and unmotivated. At Hilton London Bankside Chef Paul Bates has created a brain boosting lunch and healthy snack menu aimed at increasing energy, maintaining healthy weight and improving the immune system.

To kick the day off with a refreshing start, snacks on arrival include granola bars, lemon and kiwi spritzers and to keep attention levels high the mid-morning break consists of raw vegetables with mint yogurt and apple, banana and soy shakes.  Cucumber water, packed with vitamins and minerals to keep blood pressure down, is available throughout the day.

The brain boosting lunch menu, which can be personalised depending on the groups’ taste, is a light and flavoursome affair with options such as steamed white fish with olive oil and lemon dressing or mackerel ceviche with green beans, almonds and chilli. Both rich in Omega 3, fish is the perfect choice to improve memory and increase brain cells. Those with a sweet tooth won’t miss out when opting for the wellness menu which includes a dark chocolate torte, known for its anti-oxidant properties and soy milk raspberry mouse.

When booking the wellness package employees will have full use of the state of the art gym and swimming pool, perfect for those wanting to start or finish their day with a workout. Regular exercise helps the brain to improve thinking skills, battle stress as well as keeping energy levels high throughout the day. For companies looking for group activities, to improve camaraderie within the team, the wellness package offers personalised training sessions with StreetGym®, which focuses on empowering people through outdoor fitness.

Speaking about the class Founder of StreetGym® John Allison says “It's not about who is the fastest or the fittest, it's about interacting with your urban environment like you've never done before. It's a fantastic way to get an invigorating whole body workout in a one hour session, a chance to share the experience with colleagues, have lots of fun and visit new places off the beaten track.  You'll also come away with new training tips to use anywhere and anytime.” During the unique training hour guests will climb, crawl, run and push around the buzzing Bankside area, making for an exhilarating alfresco experience that will challenge the group.

The facilities at Hilton London Bankside are second to none with 11 flexible meeting spaces, a ballroom that caters to 700 guests, state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and a dedicated team to assist with planning, delivery, ensuring a smooth and successful event.
