Hoteliers show their mettle with charity triathlon

The Langstone hotel team
Portsmouth’s Langstone Hotel said aloha to a gruelling charity triathlon, equalling the distance of the famous Hawaiian Ironman contest.
Team members from the hotel and their colleagues from the UK’s leading independent hotel management company Redefine|BDL Hotels, which operates The Langstone, took on a 2.4mile swim, a 180.25km cycle and a 26.2mile run - all within 24 hours – raising £2000 to date for charity in the process.

In two teams of nine, they completed the challenge using  the Hayling Island property’s leisure facilities on Thursday 28th of April to raise money for Redefine|BDL Hotels’ 2016 charity partner, Make-A-Wish® UK.

Clint Marsh, General Manager at The Langstone Hotel, said: “This was an incredible challenge for the teams and we couldn’t be more proud of them. Raising funds for Make-A-Wish, which supports children and young people with life-threatening conditions, really spurred them on during their training regimes.

“Afterwards we celebrated their success together with a traditional ‘honu’ garden party at the hotel – a fitting way to end such a special day.”

Redefine|BDL Hotels has pledged to raise £50,000 for Make-A-Wish in 2016. The charity grants magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
