Head for sunnier climes this Winter at Tiara Miramar & Tiara Yaktsa, France

Rather than closing for the winter season, two idyllic hotels tucked away in the South of France, Tiara Miramar Beach Hotel & Spa and Tiara Yaktsa, are experiencing a winter revival this year, remaining open for year-round travellers. Hidden within the provincial fishing village of Theoule-Sur-Mer, 20-minutes from Nice Airport, and blessed with a constant balmy climate, Tiara are inviting discerning travellers to escape the inevitable winter gloom for sunnier climes.

Known to have captivated the likes of famed fashion designer Coco Chanel, who would often journey to the South of France during the winter months, the Cote d’Azur is no longer just a spring/summer destination. With countless hiking trails, winter sports and day-trip excursions all within easy reach, the two Tiara hotels are keen to showcase their wintertime assets and low-season affordable rates.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the hotel’s rugged backdrop of the l’Esterel mountain range makes for the first port of call with countless hiking trails to explore during the winter. Mountain biking, demarked jogging routes and buggy tours are also available as alternative land-based excursions, weaving through the volcanic landscape and lush surroundings.

Those willing to venture a little further afield over the winter months can enjoy access to some of the world’s most prestigious ski resorts such as Valberg, complete with 91km of downhill skiing and 52 individual pistes. Located just two and a half hours drive from Theoule-Sur-Mer, direct transfers from the Tiara hotels can be arrange to this alpine resort, costing 800€ per day. Other mountainous activities here include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ski touring. High-flyers wanting to travel in the upmost style can opt for an exclusive 25-minute helicopter transfer direct from the hotel to Valberg, costing from 1,395€.

Others who prefer to shake off the year’s stresses with more restorative activities can relax in Tiara Miarmar’s resident two-floor spa, enjoying facilities a little closer to home. Salubrious treatments include Lomi Lomi massages, oriental hot stone massages and ‘cellular awakening’ facials using Siberian ginseng roots aimed to revive guests from the endless winter chill.

Cultural explorations are also available in nearby Nice, with museums such as the Chagall Museum, The Musee des Beaux Art and The Matisse Museum open year-round. Visitors can also refuel in the rustic Old Town, with plenty of cosy restaurants and shops tucked away in the small winding cobbled streets. The seasonal sales also begin mid-January for those hunting for some bargain shopping to return home with.

With affordable low-season rates, luxury shopping, cultural excursions and winter adventures all on their doorstep, the two Tiara hotels are exclusively carving out a new season for the South of France. For those still yet to finalise their travel plans, Cote d’Azur sunnier climes beckon this winter!
