The team behind BEST WESTERN PLUS Pinewood on Wilmslow Hotel in south Manchester has announced a £1.8 million plan to further develop and extend the Hotel with the addition of 19 new bedrooms, aesthetic and environmental improvements to the existing 1970s extension, a new-look entrance and the creation of ten new jobs for the area.

The additional luxuriously appointed en-suite bedrooms will include a contemporary wet room or walk-in shower and Juliet balconies from which to make the most of their extensive garden views. The main entrance of the Hotel will enjoy a face-lift along with the existing 1970s addition to the property. This will have new windows fitted throughout to enhance the exterior design, improve energy efficiency and offer added noise reduction for guests, plus fresh render to tie in its colour and ambiance with the new lounge and restaurant extension.

This news comes fast on the heels of last year’s £1.5 million pound investment which involved the addition of 12 en-suite bedrooms, increased lounge space on the ground floor and the launch of an 85 seat ground floor restaurant, One Eighty, which also generated an additional 17 local jobs.

Hotel general manager John Scott commented that: “The Hotel’s performance has been strong in the last 12 months and the response from Hotel guests and local residents to last year’s upgrade has been hugely positive. We want to capitalise on that now with the addition of more guest rooms to allow us to accommodate larger business events and conferences, as well as local weddings and banquets.’

‘By re-facing the old 1970s structure and tying it into the contemporary look of the new extension, the outside of the Hotel will be completely transformed and will complement perfectly the charming character of the older, original house. ’

‘This is a very exciting time for the business’ says Tim Rumney, managing director

‘Not only have we significantly improved sales and profit, the team has done a fantastic job in looking after our customers, improving the Hotel’s reputation and achieving excellent guest feedback’.

‘In addition to gaining rave reviews from customers for the improvements made to the public areas and bedrooms, the Hotel has also secured an AA rosette for its restaurant and established a strong reputation for the quality of the food and service. This additional development will build on all of these successes, allowing us to offer more facilities to both the local market as well as our conference and business guests.’
