Motel One Manchester-Piccadilly, rooms start at just £69 per night

On 15th June Motel One opened the doors of its first hotel in Manchester, providing visitors to the city with all the benefits of a design hotel at an affordable price. The new 330-room hotel is located directly opposite Manchester-Piccadilly rail station, supplying leisure and business visitors with fantastic transport links.

Business guests will find the hotel’s location is perfect for The Manchester Conference Centre and Manchester Central Convention Complex which are both within a mile. Those visiting for the city’s attractions will find the Manchester Arndale Centre, Opera House Manchester and National Football Museum all in close proximity to Motel One Manchester-Piccadilly.

To give customers a unique travel experience, each Motel One takes design influences from its city’s history and culture. Motel One Manchester-Piccadilly has taken its design from the city’s strong industrial heritage and Britpop culture to produce an atmosphere that is fitting of its metropolitan host.

The hotel’s One Lounge breakfast area décor has been inspired by the worker bee, a symbol that was associated with Manchester during Britain’s industrial revolution; metal works and art of worker bees adorn the walls and honeycomb patterns clothe the Sancal ‘Tea‘ chairs. The Manchester City Arms feature on the walls of the hotel, making the hotel stay true to its city centre location. In the bar the decor takes on the Britpop culture which the city is famous for, the walls are lined with metal-coated LPs while the ceiling is embellished with a mirror ball and lamps from Tom Dixon. Leather lounge chairs and sofas complete the area, setting the Britpop scene and creating an ideal place to relax after a day in the city.

Motel One’s ethos is ‘great design for little money’, focusing on providing quality and service at budget prices that leisure and business travellers dream of. The budget design chain currently operates 50 hotels across Europe. Manchester-Piccadilly is the latest development in the brand’s European expansion plans and will be followed later this year with the opening of a hotel in Amsterdam.
